Awards and Prizes

The college has instituted a few prestigious awards from the year 1970 onwards to recognize the contributions of outstanding students in the fields of research, community involvement, academics, arts and culture. The awards are decided by the staff council and conferred on the annual prize distribution day organized by the college.

1 Gandhi Centenary Best Student Award.(Instituted 1970-71) The Gandhi Centenary Award has been instituted to commemorate the centenary of the birth of Mahatma Gandhi. The award is given annually to a final year student of outstanding achievement and promise.
2 Deen Bandhu CF Andrews Prize.(Instituted 1970-71) The Deen Bandhu CF Andrews Prize has been instituted in memory of the late Charles F Andrews, a friend of India and an eminent social worker. This prize is awarded to a final year student who, in the judgment of the staff, has proved himself/herself a person of outstanding social concern.
3 Dr. (Mrs.) Winfred Bryce Memorial Prize (Instituted 1970-71) This award has been instituted in memory of late Dr. (Mrs.) Winfred L Bryce, a pioneer social worker in MP, a teacher, social scientist and the first Head of the Indore School of Social Work. The prize is generally awarded to a student of the final year who has proved himself/herself outstanding in social work research.
4 Principal’s Merit Prize(Instituted 1970-71) This prize is awarded to the student who secures the first rank in the MA previous social work examination conducted by the University.
5 Best Library User Award This is given to a final year student who in the judgment of the Library staff has made the best/optimum use of the facilities provided in the library.
6 Merit Prizes Awarded to students of final year class for their contributions to community life, campus development, innovative ideas and practices and involvement in extra-curricular activities.
